Who is Jesus?

Jesus, or in the Hebrew, Yeshua, is the First-born of all Creation. His Name means “God with us” or Yahoshua, which means, “God is my Savior.” His mission is in His Name, and it is to bring all people into a most loving relationship to His Father, whether they be things on earth, or over the earth. And He will not fail. In the first chapter of the Gospel of John, we read,

“In the beginning was the Word (Greek: Logos1), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend (or conquered) it…And the Word (Logos) became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth” (NASB).2

Basically, before the beginning of time, God was alone in the Universe. And then, He spoke, and his Word came into Being. And through this Being, through this Word, all else came into being. Hebrews 1:2 says of Him, “...in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world (NASB, italics mine). He is the only begotten Son of the Father, not God Himself, but the Son of God. Psalm 2:7 says, “I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. 8 ‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, And the very ends of the earth as Your possession. 9 ‘You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware’” (NASB). He is humanity’s stumbling block, and will have an effect on all people. “And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder” (Mt 21:44, KJV). Basically, your will is either broken because of Him, or it will be crushed because of Him.
